CLUB HISTORY
17 Feb 2008

igan Juniors Football Club was founded in 1983 by the Rev David Wiseman, he believed that all children between the ages of 5 - 15 should be given the opportunity to play football,
irrespective of their ability. The message he wished to get across to both children and adults was "Game Before Result" a message that is still upheld today. In our formative years we became the largest football club in Britain with over 900 children playing on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. Playing major parts in the local youth leagues the Wigan and District Youth League and one of the founder members of the Leigh and District Youth League. Over the years we have played our part in developing new football talent, Andy Griffin (Newcastle United), Ian Moore (Burnley), Robert Croft (England Under 18's / Manchester City). Its not just players who have gone on to better things, also Manager Ronnie Moore (Rotherham Utd). Now 21 years later we are still going strong. Our main focus is on the younger children from 5 - 13 years who play on Saturday mornings and early afternoon (0900am - 1300pm) at Robin Park all weather pitch. Even with over 200 children we are still looking for new children who
want to enjoy themselves, play some football and meet new friends. Our thanks go to our predecessors and their families whose endeavors over the years have kept
the club going. There have been many parents who have run one team on a Saturday and another on a Sunday.
Charlie and Jimmy have been with the Club from the outset, starting out as joint team managers. Stuart has been with the Club since 1990.
